TOPIC: A Change In Character (Seeds Of Destiny 18 April 2022)

SCRIPTURE: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A genuine Christian should experience a change in habit and lifestyle.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today MESSAGE:

It has been confirmed that a change of habit or character is one proof of a changed life.

One area where we are expected to change and fit into the Nature of Christ is the area of habit and lifestyle. A genuine Christian should experience a change in habit and lifestyle.

Habit is the manner in which a person conducts himself. In other words, it is a person’s behavioural pattern. Lifestyle, on the other hand, is the manner of living or the way of life, characteristic of a particular person, group or culture.

There are many ways a Christian can behave that will show that his or her habits and lifestyle have not yet changed. For example, if an unbeliever comes late to work by 9:00am but writes 7:45am on the staff attendance register and a Christian does the same thing, it means that Christian has not yet experienced a change of habit or lifestyle. He is headed for the same destination with the sinner, and that is hellfire.

Unbelievers can easily engage in dubious practices – they can mix kerosene with petrol in order to make more money; they can mix cement with cheaper substances like dust and ash and re-bag them so they can make more profit, etc. If a child of God does the same thing they do, he will end in the same destination with them, and that destination is hellfire!

The truth is, whenever a person becomes a Christian, there should be a public testimony of a change of his lifestyle and such testimony should come from those who used to know him before he repented.

Remember this: A genuine Christian should experience a change in habit and lifestyle.

1. Align your character and conduct with that of Jesus Christ.
2. Refuse to be controlled by the Flesh.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You change my conduct, character and lifestyle to reflect Your life. Help me to always put the flesh under control, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
