Topic: Wisdom Birthed By The Fear Of God

Beloved, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and the absence of His fear is foolishness.

SCRIPTURE: And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To fear God is to connect wisdom; it is to access Divine secrets.

Sometime ago, I read a humorous story about an atheist who went to a court in Florida, USA to demand for special holidays for atheists. He said that Christians have Christmas and other holidays, the Jews have the Passover holiday and others, etc. Why then is there no holiday for atheists, people who believe there is no God? The judge said that there is already a day for them – April 1st which is humorously referred to as fools’ day is a holiday for atheists. Now, this is because only fools say there is no God (Psalm 53:1). The judge told the atheist, “April 1st is the day for you people so mark that day and celebrate it.” And the case ended.

Beloved, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and the absence of His fear is foolishness. And wisdom is access to Divine secrets. That is why Psalm 25:14 says, The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him…. So, to fear God is to connect wisdom; it is to access Divine secrets. When you fear God, there are things He will show you that He cannot show others who don’t fear Him.

Now, what is the fear of the Lord?

  1. The Hatred of Evil

The fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil. Proverbs 8:13 says, The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Whenever you fear God, you cannot enjoy evil. You cannot be comfortable with evil.

  1. Obedience to God’s Commandments

The fear of the Lord is the keeping of God’s commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Obedience to God’s commandments equals the fear of the Lord and the fear of the Lord equals wisdom. Obeying instructions from God, fulfilling His assignments on the earth like soul winning, giving to the less privileged, giving for kingdom advancement, etc. are all functions of the fear of the Lord. They are keys to Divine wisdom.

  1. Existence in the Consciousness of His Presence

The fear of the Lord is existence in the consciousness of His Presence. When you fear God, you behave as if God is virtually with you wherever you are (Psalm 14:5).

When this fear of God is established, then access to the wisdom of God can be guaranteed, and after we have accessed the wisdom of God, we can exist in blessing and stardom. This shall be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: To fear God is to connect wisdom; it is to access Divine secrets.
