TOPIC – The Quality Of Meekness: A Posture For Divine Direction (Seeds Of Destiny 4 July 2022)

SCRIPTURE: The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalms 25:9.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be meek is to hear God.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today MESSAGE:

The Scripture makes it clear that the quality of meekness is a posture for accessing Divine Direction.

Psalms 25:9 says,
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

The meek is the only one qualified for God’s guidance, not the proud and arrogant. The meek is the only one qualified to be taught the ways of God.

Now, what does meekness refer to?
a. Meekness refers to the ability to be taught.
Meekness is teachability. To be meek is to be teachable.

b. Meekness refers to the ability to be corrected.
The willingness to be corrected is a proof of meekness. The arrogant would not like to be corrected.

c. Meekness refers to the ability to make a U-turn when you realise you have made a wrong turn.
Meek people possess the ability to make a U-turn when they realise they have made a wrong turn.

Please take note of this: the reason there is so much frustration in the world today is because meek people are scarce.

In the days of Moses, no one saw God like him. No one heard God like Moses in his days. God spoke to him mouth to mouth as a person would speak to his friend (Numbers 12:6-8).

Now, what qualified Moses for that level of hearing God?
Numbers 12:3 gives us the answer:
Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.

Moses was very meek above all the men on the face of the earth in his generation, and he heard God more than everyone else in his generation. So, to be meek is to hear God.

Remember this: To be meek is to hear God.

QUOTE: If you want to be a friend of God; if you want to come into unusual favour with Him, take yourself to the place of humility. Drop that proud shoulder of yours and come to a place of helplessness with God. Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Proverbs 19-21.

AMAZING FACT: Dolphins sleep with only one brain hemisphere at a time, in slow-wave sleep, to maintain enough consciousness to breathe and to watch for possible predators.
