Text —Joshua 1:11-18
Message
A man tied a cock and a hen together in the legs, preparing to slaughter them to celebrate the first of January 2024. The cock struggled hard until it loosed itself from the bond. But to his astonishment, the hen still remained there on the floor thinking it was still tied. “What!” the man suddenly exclaimed. “What’s the matter?” the daughter asked. “This hen is still lying down here having been set free by the cock.” “It’s a matter of the mind,” was the puzzling reply from the daughter.
The above true anecdote best explains the declaration of Joshua to the psyche of the children of Israel. They had been loosed from the Egyptian bondage and presented with an open cheque of promise to take over the Promise Land. There wasn’t any reason for their delay any longer. In the same vain, from the first day of this New Year, press forward to accomplish your set goals. Loose yourself from your psychological bonds. Beloved, study hard, yet maintain regular fellowship with God and the saints. Now, go and possess your possession.
