ATTITUDE OF APPRECIATION

MEMORY VERSE: “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan”

TEXT: LUKE 17:11-19

Just like the nine lepers who were cleansed and healed but never returned to show appreciation to Jesus who healed them, so do many find it highly unnecessary to testify of the goodness of God after receiving miracles from Him today. Appreciation is pivotal in our interpersonal relationship with fellow men, needless to talk about our relationship with God. Those who lack this virtue may not go far in their endeavours because appreciation attracts more blessings as we can find from our text that Jesus was pleased with the only person who came back to show gratitude when he was cleansed of his leprosy.

John F. Kennedy said, “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” This means our gratitude to God for the good things He has done for us must not be a mere lip service but from the bottom of our hearts. Attitude of appreciation solidifies the miracles or breakthrough we receive from the Lord. Endeavour to thank God for mercies received.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to have an attitude of appreciation.

CHALLENGE: Show appreciation for God’s faithfulness.
