The High Cost Of Low Living (Part 4)

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

If at some point, Herod would have stopped Herodias’s daughter in the middle of the dance, he wouldn’t have had to pay her. God will always provide a way out of sin. You need to learn to stop it while you’re still hearing the voice of conviction prodding you to quit. That’s what the cross was all about. The cross cancels our debts. It covers our sins but you have to get out of the sin you are in.

Sin is going to cost you. Stop the dance. You can’t do wrong and be all right. You’re going to pay for the dance. But if you stop now God’s grace may cover you. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, “Neither do I condemn you. Now go and sin no more.”

God’s word says there’s a space of grace. God will give you time to repent but don’t think that you have an infinite amount of time. God’s given you grace, so now get out because if you keep staying, you’re going to have to pay the high cost of low living.  And you don’t decide the cost, the devil does. It might cost you your children. It might cost your freedom. It might cost your reputation or your marriage. Most of all, it may cost your relationship with your Creator.

If you are being convicted by God in this season of your life, pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I believe in you. You’re the Savior of the world, and I give you my life. Wash me. Cleanse me. I repent of my sins. Thank you for that little voice that I hear. I give myself to you. I give you my mind, my body, and my past. I give you my present and my future. I belong to you. I am your child. My name is written in the Book of Life, and I thank you that I’ll have you and your voice in my life for the rest of my days. Jesus, I belong to you. Here’s my weakness. Here’s my “dancer.” Here’s the thing the enemy wants to destroy me with. I give it to you. Don’t just be my Savior. Be Lord over my life. Be Lord over my issues, my weaknesses, and my struggles. Don’t give up on me. Let the voice get louder, not quieter. Let it get loud in my ear until I’m walking in obedience to your word. In Jesus’ name, I am forgiven, and I am free. Amen.
