3 Encounters On The Way To Your Dream

“A man’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16

Before Joseph could see his dreams come true, he had to have three encounters. In the same way, you must encounter three types of people who will act as catalysts to your vision. First, Joseph encountered a “butler.” A butler opens the doors. There are places you can’t get to on your own, but God has “butler” people who will open doors for you. They help you get to the next level. God can place a special person in your life who instantly opens a door that would have taken you twenty years of trying your best on your own to get that door open. God has “butler” connections lined up for you.

Secondly, Joseph encountered a “baker.” A “baker” is somebody who knows how to take a little sugar, flour, and egg and make a cake. You may have all the ingredients of your dream, but a “baker” knows how to put it all together. A “baker” is a mentor. Sometimes, we don’t know how to make all the pieces work. We may need help with the finances and the strategy to make it all come together just right. People who have been where you want to be are invaluable resources. God will put these mentors in your life who have achieved what you’re just dreaming of doing. They will challenge you, push you, critique you, and mostly encourage you.

And lastly, there was a “Pharaoh.” He was the financer of the dream. Every time God gives a dream, He’s already got the “Pharaohs” out there to fund it. Famous televangelist Mike Murdoch once said, “Somebody is always watching you that’s capable of greatly blessing you.” You never know who’s watching you. When you are attempting something great with an attitude of excellence, the right people will notice. One of the most famous quarterbacks of all time, Tom Brady, once said, “To be successful at anything, the truth is you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined, and willing to work for it.”
