The Power of Prayer (Part 3)

“My house shall be called a house of prayer.” Matthew 21:13

There was a woman whose son is now the Pastor of a megachurch. She started a prayer meeting in Louisiana that lasted over 30 years. When her son was born, she made a vow about him. She knew she did not have a lot of money or wealth that she could leave behind for him so she proposed in her heart to dedicate one whole day of each year to pray for him. So she went to church every year on his birthday and locked herself in and prayed for him from sun up to sun down. She fasted and geared all her prayers towards her son on that day. She was a remarkable mother.

And when her son grew up, he led thousands and thousands to Christ and he was even called upon to minister to the President of the United States! What could happen if godly parents would rise up and decide that on their child’s birthday, the cake and presents could wait? What would happen if they shut themselves in a room and just prayed for that child from sunrise to sunset? 

Your child could be fighting battles that you are not aware of. Luke 22 says, “Satan has desired to sift you like wheat…but I have prayed for you that your faith will not fail.” The devil would love to get his hands on your children and grandchildren. Your prayers are like a shield, deflecting the fiery darts of the enemy. God is calling you to have an earnest desire to see His will done in the lives of your children. You have to be a warrior who paves the way for them. You never know what they could grow up to be and how many souls they could impact. When you pray and activate heaven on their behalf, God will partner with you to lead them to the glorious destiny He has planned.
