The Power Of One Voice

“For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, how will there be preparation for battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8

In Biblical times, military signals were sent with trumpets, but if the trumpet gave an unclear or uncertain sound, the battle would be lost because the troops would not know what to do. Pastors and leaders need to be clear about where they stand in this hour in America. We need to speak the truth of God’s word. One of the biggest lies in America today is that we should not talk about politics in the church. Because of this mindset, over the last 30 years, we have seen extreme liberalism that is anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-life, anti-Israel, and anti-freedom. An entire generation is getting brainwashed in our educational systems and major universities. People will no longer honor the values that this nation was built on.

It’s very important that Christians, in this critical hour, open their eyes. This generation has come to believe that the church should have no part in determining how people should vote, but that is incorrect and unbiblical. The Bible says, “The kingdom is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations.” When a minister or even a Christian speaks out against voting for a bill in Congress that is not biblical, many people believe they’re out of line. We are sitting in freedom today because of the boldness of many ministers who dared to take a stand and get involved in the political affairs of their day.

There is power in one Christian taking a stand for God. In American history, you can read about a brave pastor named Jonas Clarke. On April 18, 1775, when Paul Revere was making his famous ride warning the people that the British were coming, he rode through Lexington, Massachusetts, where Jonas Clarke served as a pastor. The generals gathered and asked the pastor, “The British are coming. Pastor Clarke, will the men of Lexington fight?” And the pastor responded, “I trained them for this very hour. They will fight and, if need be, die under the shadow of the house of God.” When the pastor and his men gathered on the frontline where the British ships were coming, the British cried out to them, “We command you in the name of the King to surrender.” They replied, “We surrender to only one king, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Then the pastor and his men said, “We don’t want to fight you, but if you start a fight, we’re going to fight to the death.” That day, the nation of America was ultimately born because pastors and congregations dared to take a stand.
