Rubber Band Faith (Part 2)

“Now to Him who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…” Ephesians 3:20

God uses the stretch in your life to expand your thinking. So many times, we just get stuck in the same old patterns and challenges. Rubberband faith means trusting God in stress, tension, discomfort, and pressure. This type of faith says, “I don’t want to live at a minimum level, barely reaching my potential. I’m not like everyone else. Lord, when you tell me to do something, I will stretch by giving you what I have and trusting you to maximize it to the fullest.”

A rubber band, when untouched, is at its minimum. When stretched, it doesn’t get any bigger than it already is; it’s just reaching its maximum potential. So many of you don’t want God to stretch you because you have grown comfortable with where you are. But God wants you to realize there’s so much more in you that you haven’t used. You are capable of more, but it will require rubber-band faith.

There’s so much talent and creativity inside of you that will never be realized unless you are exposed to stretching seasons where you must endure discomfort, tension, and pressure.

Every person in the Bible God used had to be stretched with rubber band faith. Most people want an easy faith. They want to stay comfortable. But notice, with comfort, there is no threat. If you take a rubber band and throw it at someone, it will just bounce off of them. But when you pull that same rubber band back and stretch it like you used to do when you were a kid, you can turn it into a weapon. There’s something about the stretch that becomes a threat to the enemy.

God will do more in your life than you could ever hope or imagine. It’s time to become who He created you to be.
