The Power Of Forgiveness

“Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’” Luke 23:34

In Luke 23, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them,” and then afterward, He said, “Into thy hands, I commend my Spirit.” Jesus’s spirit was released only after there was an atmosphere of forgiveness. Wherever there is a release of forgiveness, there is a release of the Spirit of God. When Jesus released forgiveness, Heaven was shaken, and the Father reached out and tore the veil that separated us from Him. 

The first healing God did on this planet was not of a disease but of bitterness. It was at the bitter waters of Marah that God said, “I am Jehovah Rapha, the God who healeth thee.” Forgiveness and healing are tied together. Wherever there is a release of forgiveness, there is a release of healing.

The power of forgiveness affects Heaven, hell, and Earth. You can experience revival in the presence of forgiveness. If you want God’s hand in your life, you cannot have unforgiveness in your spirit toward anybody. This includes people at church and in your family. 

Colossians 2:15 says, “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Another version says, “splitting hell wide open with forgiveness.” Wow. You can disarm hell by releasing forgiveness!
