Fasting For Your Breakthrough (Part 2)

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

God has a great plan for your life. You sense it. You know it. Do you know that every assignment has a birthplace? When you begin to seek God at the beginning of the year in fasting and in prayer He will start to release your assignment for your life. The great Apostle Paul was fasting when God called him to preach. The church at Antioch was fasting when Paul received his commission to take the gospel to all the world in the name of Jesus. For many of you, as you fast and seek God’s face, this will be the year that He’s going to give your assignment its birthplace.

The Bible said that when Daniel began to believe and dream for God’s prophecy over his life he was bound. He and his family were bound in slavery. But as he fasted the Bible says, “The angel of the Lord came on the very first day and said (paraphrased), ‘God heard your prayer the first day you prayed, but Daniel because you kept fasting for twenty-one days, you broke the power of that spirit that was keeping your answer from coming.” The enemy wants to try to delay your destiny. He loves to delay God’s plan and will for your life. The enemy knows he can’t defeat you so he will try to delay the promise of God over your life. 

When you fast, things that have been held up or delayed will start to break through. When you fast you activate the spirit world to act on your behalf. Remember, Jesus fasted forty days. Moses fasted forty days. Joshua fasted forty days. Paul fasted fourteen days and his eyes were healed. Over and over in the scriptures you see the power of fasting. The New Testament Church fasted and witnessed a miracle. Peter fasted three days and got a revelation. There is an amazing breakthrough power that comes when you fast and seek God.

When you fast, God’s healing power will be released in your life (Isaiah 58), miracles of provision will come (Joel 2), addictions will break off your life (Judges 20, Mark 9), and prodigal sons and daughters will come home. (Jeremiah 31:16) Tell your family to get ready for favor, blessings, and deliverance. When people fast, exciting things begin to happen! So let’s start a hunger strike against hell!
