It’s Turnaround Time! (Part 2)

“To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy…” Jude 1:24 

In 2 Kings 9, Jehu was anointed by the prophet of God to become the next king and to end the evil legacy of Ahab and Jezebel. As soon as he received this “turnaround anointing,” Jehu got on his horse and rode for the city. When he arrived there, Joram saw Jehu and asked, “Have you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu responded, “How can there be peace as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?” And then Jehu shot an arrow through the heart of Joram and killed him. The death of this king and Jezebel marked the end of many years of wickedness reigning in the land. In our country today, we need to take aim at the heart of wickedness.

The spirit of Jezebel can impact generations. You can lose your children and your family. Just participating and hanging out with that spirit can devastate your life. Jehu, who was under the anointing of God, said, I’m not giving in to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. When he arrived at Jezebel’s house and saw her up in her window, he said, “Who up there is on the Lord’s side?” And the turnaround anointing hit those three men, and they picked her up and threw her out of the palace, and she hit the ground and died. And the prophecy was, your blood will be splattered, and the dogs will lick up your blood. And then, strangely, they went and sat down and ate. And while they were eating, the rest of the prophecy was fulfilled. Wild dogs came and tore her to pieces, and there was nothing left but her hands, her feet, and her skull. 

One woman named Madalyn O’Hair back in the 60s had a counterfeit anointing. She was an atheist and single-handedly got prayer, the Ten Commandments, and the teaching of the Word of God out of our schools. Her counterfeit spirit impacted the whole nation. If one woman could be used for evil with a counterfeit anointing, what can God do if every one of us would say, “Lord, pour out your turnaround anointing on me.” We would see families turn back to worship, prayer, holiness, sanctification, purity, and wholesome living.
