Tune Out the Doubt

JUN 11, 2023

Today’s Scripture

Matthew 13:57–58, NLT

Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.

Today’s Word

If you’re going to see the fullness of what God has for you, you have to learn this principle that doubt will keep you from your destiny. There’s always a battle taking place in our mind. Thoughts come whispering that are negative, discouraging, and alarming. “You’re not going to get well. You don’t have the talent to get that job. You can’t pass that college course. You can’t break the addiction.” If you dwell on those thoughts, you’ll get talked out of what you’re believing for. You’ll become negative, discouraged, and give up on dreams. Don’t take the bait. Those are lies to try to keep you from seeing the awesome things God has in store.

You can’t stop the negative thoughts from coming, but you can tune them out. Don’t give the doubt the time of day. Keep your mind filled with faith, filled with hope. What you’re facing is not too hard for our God. There is no problem He can’t turn around, no dream that He can’t bring to pass. Keep believing.

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for being the God of miracles and that You’re still on the throne no matter what negative thoughts whisper in my mind. Help me to tune out those thoughts and keep my mind filled with faith and hope. I believe that nothing is too hard for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
