Ask Big, Pray Big, Believe Big

Today’s Scripture

Nehemiah 1:11, NLT 

“O Lord, please hear my prayer! Listen to the prayers of those of us who delight in honoring you. Please grant me success today by making the king favorable to me. Put it into his heart to be kind to me.” 

Today’s Word

God gave Nehemiah a dream to rebuild the broken down walls of Jerusalem, which seemed impossible. Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the Persian king, living a thousand miles from Jerusalem. He wasn’t a builder and didn’t have any resources, funds, a building crew, or influence. But Nehemiah prayed a bold prayer and asked God to put in the king’s heart to help him when there was no reason for the king to do it. He chose to believe that the God who asks you to do difficult things is the same God who makes a way when there is no way, and that’s exactly what God did. 

If you’re going to accomplish your God-given dreams, you have to have a boldness. You can’t be weak and intimidated, saying, “This is too much.” You have to ask big, pray big, believe big. You’re going to need other people to open doors, to support your dream, to use their influence to push you forward. Have you ever prayed, “God, put it in people’s hearts to help me and show me favor”? 

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that the dreams You have put in my heart are always possible because no one is more powerful than You. Thank You that I can dare to pray big, to ask big, and to believe big. I believe that You are already moving the right people into place to help me as well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
