Today’s Scripture

Romans 5:17, NIV

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 

Today’s Word

We turn on the news these days and hear about how bad this or that is, the divisiveness in politics, the unrest in our society. If you allow the negative to get in you, the division, the disrespect, the anger, it’s going to pollute your thoughts, steal your joy, and make you sour. You have to be proactive. What are you watching and listening to? Is it building you up, making you more positive, more hopeful, or is it tearing you down, stressing you out, making you upset? Life is hard enough without adding all these negative things that make it more difficult. 

The Scripture says that God has made you to reign in life through Jesus Christ. When negative things come, remember that you’re the ruler. You have the authority to decide what you allow in. Are you going to dwell on the offense? Are you going to hang around the person who’s pulling you down? Are you going to stay focused on the bad break and live in self-pity? It’s up to you. You rule over your kingdom. 

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for Your abundant provision of grace so that I might reign in life through Jesus Christ. Thank You that I can be proactive and control what I watch and listen to. I declare that I will rule over my kingdom and keep the negative out. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
