Freezing Time

Joshua 10:14, NLT

There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the LORD answered such a prayer.

Today’s Word

One day Joshua and the Israelite army were winning a battle, but they were running out of time before it got dark and the enemy army would escape. Instead of conceding the situation, Joshua was bold and prayed, “Sun, stand still until the enemy is defeated.” People who heard him must have thought he was crazy, but God answered his prayer and gave them the time they needed for a complete victory.

It may feel as though it’s too late for you to accomplish a dream, to overcome an obstacle, to start a business. You may be thinking that if you just had more time you could do it. The good news is that God is going to freeze time so you can finish what you started. Time is on your side, because God is on your side. He’s not limited by a clock, by a calendar, by age, or by year. God is going to make you more effective, more productive, more focused, more skilled. He’s giving you a window of time to accomplish what He put in your heart.

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that when I feel that I am running out of time, time is actually on my side because You are on my side. Thank You that I can dare to pray bold prayers to accomplish my dreams. I believe that You are going to show out in my life as You did with Joshua. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
