Kingdom-Minded

Today’s Scripture

Luke 12:31, NLT 

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.” 

Today’s Word

Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king of Persia. He had an ordinary position and didn’t have wealth or influence. But when he heard that the walls of Jerusalem were torn down and the city was unprotected, something came alive inside. He knew he was supposed to rebuild the walls, but how? He had no money, no staff, no experience. But when you’re cause-driven, you pray bold prayers and believe for the impossible. When it’s to advance God’s kingdom and bring about positive change, the right people and resources will show up. Nehemiah not only was granted permission from the king to go, but the timber for rebuilding. 

Why don’t you invest some of your time and energy in others? Help rebuild their walls, help their dreams come to pass, mentor their child, care for them through an illness. It’s good to ask for your own needs, but when you’re asking for someone else, when you’re taking a stand for those who can’t, when you’re kingdom-minded and not just me-minded, God will show out in your life.

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the dreams You put in my heart to help rebuild walls that have been torn down in other people’s lives. Help me to live kingdom-minded and give me wisdom to know where and when I can get involved. I declare that I will take a stand for others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
