Exodus 7:17, NIV

This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.

Today’s Word

Are you living worried, thinking a problem is too big? Perhaps you’re discouraged by a medical report or a financial situation. You’re out of fuel; your faith needs to be reenergized. The way you do this is by going back over your “by this you will know” times when God made a way, delivered you, opened a door you couldn’t open, or protected you from an accident. Start dwelling on the goodness of God in your own life. It’s great that He delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh with plagues, but how about the deliverances He has brought you through? It’s great that David defeated Goliath, but what about the giants that you’ve defeated? What about the times He made something happen that seemed impossible? That is your personal history, and it’s fuel for your faith. When you start thanking God for those things, you’ll get that spring back in your step. You’ll live with confidence, for “by this you will know” that the Lord is on your side.

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for the history of goodness I have with You, and for every time You have brought deliverance and helped me defeat what has come against me. Thank You for all the times when You’ve shown me that You are at my side. By this I know that I will triumph. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
