Take the Throne

2 Chronicles 23:11, NIV

Jehoiada and his sons brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him.

Today’s Word

Joash, the son of King Ahaziah, was only seven years old and would be killed if he were brought out of hiding. He was helpless to take the throne in his own strength, his own ability. But God used the high priest Jehoiada and other patriots to take back young Joash’s throne, place the crown upon him, and anoint him as their king.

Notice that Joash didn’t go after the crown; the crown came to him. God has blessings that are going to chase you down, increase that’s going to come looking for you, because you are a son or a daughter of the King. None of the conditions say, “You’re about to be anointed king.” But suddenly there’s an unexpected phone call, a divine connection, or a good break that takes you from the background to the foreground, something you didn’t see coming. I’m asking you to believe that it’s your time to reign, believe that favor is on your life, believe that something good is going to happen to you.

Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are the Most High God, and because I am Your child, I have royalty in my blood. Thank You that You have put a crown of honor on my head and anointed me with Your grace. I declare that this is my time to reign. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
