As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love

From Genesis through Revelation, God demonstrates His deep desire to be with us. How amazing that the Creator of the universe longs to spend time with us.

In Genesis, God lovingly fashioned Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed His own breath into him (Genesis 2:7). As He molded Adam and Eve, He formed them in His own image. He wanted us to recognize Him, to relate to Him. In the garden of perfection that He had created just for them.

If you are longing for fellowship with God Almighty, if you are reaching for Him, He is reaching back to you. The eyes of the Lord run to and fro across the earth; He wants to show Himself strong on behalf of those who are loyal to Him (II Chronicles 16:9).

Be careful not to confuse His longing with any sort of need. God does not need us. He is all-sufficient unto Himself. He needs nothing from anyone. How awe-inspiring that He wants us! He desires to spend time with us, to communicate with us, to revel in our presence just as we revel in His.

From the beginning through the end, God has shown us over and over, with deep love and faithful promises, that He longs to be with us. Whisper His name, and He is there. At your lowest point, He stands beside you. In your moments of quiet joy, He is there. Embrace the wonder – God wants you.

Blessing:

Heavenly Father, I am once again in awe of You. Thank You for creating me, for searching for this lost lamb, and for bringing me into Your fold. Your desire to spend time with me reminds me that I am loved. I am valuable. I am worth knowing. Because You say so. May I seek out Your presence every day. In the name of Jesus…amen.
