For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.
The blood of Jesus Christ was precious blood. “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as the lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19). A river of blood from bulls and turtledoves could never save you. Humanitarian acts of kindness cannot save you. Salvation is not possible by joining the church. You do not have power through positive thinking or meditation or staring into a crystal. The only thing that has the power of God to save your soul is the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
“Life” is literally in the blood. When the blood stops moving in your body, you are dead, totally and instantly. The point is this: a theology or church or person without the blood of Christ is dead. The life of Christ, with all its intrinsic power and blessings, is only yours as you are linked to His blood by faith.
