2 John 1:3
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
God is the Master of unexpected gifts! Grace and mercy are two of His best. We can extend those same gifts to others.
While we were still sinners, God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to die for us. His grace gave us what we did not deserve and could never earn. He accepts us just as we are, because He knows what we can become in Him.
God has the divine right to judge us for all of our offenses. He offers us mercy instead. Every morning, His mercy and loving kindness are fresh and new for us. He does not give us the judgment we rightfully deserve.
What unexpected gifts grace and mercy are in this cruel and critical world! Instead of allowing imperfections and irritations to build up walls, could we bridge the gap with His grace and mercy?
Because God accepted us in the state we were in, could we accept people just as they are with grace and faith in a God Who has a better future for them? Could we choose not to judge and condemn, because God has given us mercy and compassion instead?
Let us choose to be grace-givers and mercy-mongers. Here lies the secret to peace on earth and good will to all people.
Today’s Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the extraordinary grace and mercy of God be magnified towards others through you. Give them away freely!
