Isaiah 55:9

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Have you ever compared the difference between the power of God’s words and the emptiness of men’s wisdom? Men want us to live by their supposed wisdom, but the apostle Paul warns “that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:5). Why? Because men’s statements may sound good, but they don’t work.

Here’s one example: “Just follow your heart.” Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” If you follow your heart but your heart is not filled with the Word of God, you’ll destroy yourself. David said, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). He was saying,“God, if I don’t stay in close contact with Your truth, I won’t know the right way to go. And if I don’t follow Your light, I’ll go in the wrong direction. If I make it my way and just go by what I feel, I’ll destroy myself. I dare not follow my heart unless Your Word is in my heart, lighting the path of righteousness.”

Build your life on the only wisdom that is certain at all times— God’s Word.

And now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, giving you His peace. May the power of the Holy Spirit infuse your heart, soul, mind and body until you become ablaze in the faith of God. Nothing is impossible unto you because of the authority of the Word and the fact that Jesus has paid for your health, your healing, your victory and your deliverance at the cross. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad. The Lord of Hosts has heard your prayer, and the angels of God are bringing the answer in Jesus’ name, Amen.
