Jesus is the Answer to Our Deepest Need

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”

Ponder This

A good doctor will find the cause of pain, fever, or illness. He or she won’t merely deaden the pain and try to kill the symptoms. The symptoms are God-given to indicate there is something wrong that needs to be fixed. That unhappiness you feel, that lack of fulfillment that you have, that lack of joy in your life, these are merely symptoms. But treating the symptom without treating the disease is foolish.

The Bible doesn’t say blessing comes from seeking blessing on its own, or peace, or anything else outside of righteousness. Because our problem is unrighteousness. The other symptoms we experience come out of. Until you come to the place where you see that your deepest need is Jesus Christ, you’re not going to have your deepest hunger fed and your deepest needs met.
