Do You Share Jesus with Others?

“For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything. For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”

Ponder This

I heard about a woman who took a course in first aid and later told the class, “I’m so glad I took this course. Out in front of my house there was a horrible car accident. The car was demolished, the man was thrown out on the street, his bones were fractured, and he was in a state of shock.” She was the first one on the scene, and she said, “I remembered from my first aid training, if I would put my head between my knees, I wouldn’t faint. I am so glad I did.”

That’s the kind of Christianity a lot of people have. They’re living in a world that is broken, battered, and blind. We’re saying, give me something, make me feel better. Give me something, help me to live a little more victoriously. I don’t want to faint as I go through this wicked world. I’m glad you won’t faint because you’re not going to do much good in first aid if you’ve passed out. But there’s more to it than that. We’re to rescue the perishing and care for the dying. We’re to lift the fallen and weep over the erring one. Are you doing that? In our own spheres, with our own giftedness, our own ability, and our own opportunity, every one of us is called by God and will be equipped of God to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s a life of evangelism.
