Exodus 12:38; And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Exodus 17:3; And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

Numbers 11:4; And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

The MESSAGE:

We have addressed a few serious issues in recent devotional studies on the tragic state of affairs in the world and in the Church. The devil has swallowed lots of people. Yet, many are enveloped by the deep spiritual sleep as is to be noted in the story of a certain man who was sleeping when a preacher was preaching. When the preacher asked anyone that wanted to go to hell fire to stand up, the man who had been sleeping, woke up and stood up. He found that he was the only one standing up. Everybody was surprised. He was sleeping when the major part of the sermon was going on. With his sleep, he only heard part of the statement of the preacher when he said stand up. It was those two words that he heard, that made him to stand up. A person who wears a mask becomes a stranger even to himself. It is possible to see somebody holding a pen and a book in his hands in the church, as if he is writing, yet he is sleeping and you will not know. He is wearing a mask. Such a person will say ‘Amen’ in the wrong places.

The Lord likes people such as a blind man in John 9, who was healed by Him. Being blind, he did not even know the Man who healed him. When Jesus met him later in the temple and asked him saying, “Believeth you the Son of man?” He said, “Who is the Lord that I may believe Him?” He did not know and he was quite honest to admit it. When Jesus’ enemies told him that the man who opened his eyes was a sinner, he said, “I know that God heareth not sinners.” They shouted at him to shut up and asked if he now wanted to teach them the Bible. “This man did something wrong: why should He heal you on the Sabbath day?”, they said. The man who was healed said, “It is wonderful that a sinner could open blind eyes,” and they threw him out.

Today’s devotional sends to us a serious caution. It is that we must get rid of what the Bible calls the mixed multitudes syndrome and re-examine our spiritual status to see if we are one of the strangers in the temple.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Let the Holy Ghost set a standard of freedom for my life, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Affliction shall not rise again in my life, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Every power that does not want to let me go, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Every seed of oppression in the labour of my hands, die, in the name of Jesus.
  2. You mountain of oppression, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Every evil stronghold assigned against my life, be disgraced, in the name of Jesus.
  4. O God, arise and make my life a mysterious wonder, in the name of Jesus.
