TOPIC: Don’t Bury Your Talent (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 21 August 2019)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 107-109; 1 Corinthians 4
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 25:24-30
MEMORY VERSE: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” – 1 Corinthians 12:7
The MESSAGE:
Talent is a God-given ability to do something well without struggle or stress. It is what makes a man unique among his peers, colleagues or contemporaries. It is a seed of greatness and prosperity that God planted in man. Talent is that special thing you can do without struggling; it is what you do with ease and joy.

Talent is for profitability, that is; God gives us talent to make profit for His kingdom, it is not given just for the fun of it.
Talents are also given according to ability. God knows every one of His children even before conception (Jeremiah 1:4). He knows our capability and strength. He will only give an individual a unique potential to do something in a supernatural way without struggling with it. He will not give a talent without the grace and the capacity to use it for productivity and profitability.
But it is a great tragedy that today, many are still hiding their talents like the servant with one talent in the above scripture (Matthew 25:24-25). They are fearful, timid and full of excuses instead of using the talent and the grace that the Almighty has given them to profit and impact humanity.
Many do not know the importance of their talent, and handles it with levity. They see it as being too small or useless. They do not know that the Master place great value on every talent, no matter how seemingly small or ridiculous it may look to the servant, and he would not require far more than you can faithfully produce.
You may be an usher, make sure you do not bury that talent, thinking you could have made a better pastor. Whether you are a pastor or an usher, God will ask you what you do with it when He returns. Your talent may even be to back up a choir group, do it faithfully and you will get a commendation of the Master when the accountability comes.
The Master who is the giver of the talent expect you to make profit from it, for the glorification of the kingdom. He expects you to at least double it, He wants you to work on it and bring fruits in hundredfold.
No matter how many Scripture you can quote or tongues you can speak, if you don’t use your God-given talent, as the faithless servant has been, you will end up in the lake of fire for hiding your talent –the same place with the devil and his fallen angels.
Examine yourself today, how many talents has the Lord deposited in you? Are you still hiding that skill, that potential, and that talent that God has given you to bless His people? Are you truly making profit from it, for the glorification of the Giver? If not, repent today and harness that talent for the benefit of the body of Christ.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
I SHALL NOT DIE EMPTY; MY GOD-GIVEN TALENTS WILL NOT BE BURIED WITH ME.
PROPHETIC WORD:
The enemy will not kill you with your talent.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. All my talents imprisoned by the grave, come forth now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Just as the grave could not detain Jesus Christ, no power will detain my potentials, in the name of Jesus.
3. That which hinders me from greatness, give way now, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. O Lord, increase the work of my hand, in the name of Jesus.
5. I receive the power to fulfil divine purposes, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, add favour to my work, in the name of Jesus.
