TOPIC: Confidence In Prayer (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 27 February 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 8-10

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 8:22-26 (KJV)

22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23 And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

MEMORY VERSE: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
Prayer is about certainty. There should be boldness in our hearts when we pray. Heaven is listening!

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
RECEIVE DELIVERANCE FROM THE POWER OF SIN AND ANYTHING THAT ROBS YOU OF CONFIDENCE IN PRAYER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

The prayers of God’s servants in the Old Testament contain a common characteristic — spiritual boldness. The boldness stemmed from their knowledge that God was under an obligation to fulfil His promises. In our Fire Scripture today (1 Kings 6:22-26), Solomon reminded God of His promises with the confidence that God would keep them. God did!

Elijah was another prayer giant that exhibited boldness in prayer in the Bible. He challenged the prophets of Baal to a contest on the mount of Carmel, told them to pray to Baal and he would pray to the God of Israel. He added that the God that answereth by fire, let him be God (1 Kings 18:19-24). That was real spiritual boldness. So, Elijah alone confronted 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the groves that are at Jezebel’s table (850 in all) and defeated them. Jesus demonstrated confidence in prayer throughout His earthly ministry, leaving us a good example in this regard. In John 11:41-44, He prayed, “… Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.” After this, Jesus called Lazarus’ name and he rose to life.

Apostle Paul enjoined us in Hebrews 4:16 to come boldly or confidently to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Also, the Bible adds that this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him (1 John 5:14-15).

Beloved, Solomon, Elijah and Jesus showed unwavering faith and great confidence in God and their prayer lives produced phenomenal results. When you pray, always remember that with God all things are possible. Also remember that “anyone who comes to Him (God) must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” I encourage you to follow this principle. Let your prayer go to God with confidence or boldness and it could add a whole new dimension to your prayer life.
