TOPIC: Faith For The Journey (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 3 January 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 8-11

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 11:1-12 (KJV)

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

MEMORY VERSE: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
If you have faith, you have everything.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE THAT YOUR FAITH WILL NOT FAIL, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Faith is indispensable in the journey of a believer. Faith is demonstrating courageous trust in the All-Powerful and All-Sufficient God who owns our lives and is in charge of our journey. As a believer, your journey can be bumpy and chequered. Storms can come and you can go through bitter experiences, but you will not be swallowed if you have faith in God. You cannot survive the journey of life without faith in the unfailing and supernatural ability of the Almighty God.

The Bible provides several reasons why you should live by faith and make it your companion this year and beyond. Let us examine some of them: First, faith assures success (2 Chronicles 20:20; Mark 11:22; Luke 8:50). It is a fundamental duty of every believer (John 6:28; John 20:27). It is a defensive weapon (Ephesians 6:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:8; 1 Timothy 1:19; 6:12; Hebrews 10:22). It is an indispensable element in religion (Hebrew 11:6). It is essential in prayer (James 5:1-6), and it should be exercised with love (1 John 3:23). It is important that you understand the supernatural power of faith. With this understanding, you will exercise unwavering faith and reap its inestimable benefits.

It was faith that kept Job from denying God in spite of the devil’s numerous afflictions and his wife’s unfaithfulness. In the end, God turned his captivity around and blessed him with double of what he had before. Faith took Abraham from the land of the Chaldeans as nobody and made him a man of renown and God’s friend. It was faith that mysteriously took Joseph to the throne of Egypt as a Prime Minister, next to the king. His faith in the Sovereign Lord remained unwavering, in spite of all odds. He was sold to slavery, yet his faith in God, who had shown him his colourful destiny, did not shake. Potiphar’s wife lied against him and he was falsely cast into prison; he still held on to God, believing that He would intervene and fulfil His word. Faith made David a man after God’s heart and the disciples of Jesus world-changers.

Beloved, I encourage you to make faith your life companion. In this year 2021 especially, put your faith to work and let it propel you to new heights.
