TOPIC: The Life Of Prayer (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 4 March 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 21-22

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 6:1-4 (KJV)

1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

MEMORY VERSE: “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” – Acts 6:4

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
No one can do great things without great prayers.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I PROPHESY THAT NONE OF YOUR PRAYERS SHALL FALL TO THE GROUND, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Prayer is, for the most part, an untapped resource, an unexplored continent where untold treasure remains to be unearthed.

Now, what is prayer? Prayer is the servicing of our relationship with our heavenly Father through communication of our value and worship for Him as well as our thoughts and desires to Him. A renown Christian writer said that the great tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.

Instead of prayer to be something we do everyday, like breathing, eating and walking and talking, it seems to have become like that little glass-covered box on the wall that says, “Break in case of emergency.” It is true that so very often, we associate prayer with crises in our lives.

Paul was somebody who understood prayer and its power. Prayer was a part of his life, and admonished that it would be part of the life of every Christian. You cannot really be a good Christian and not pray, just like you cannot have a good marriage if you don’t talk to your wife. Prayer is the pipeline of communication between God and those who love Him.

David was a man of great exploits in the Bible. He killed Goliath and took the reproach off Israel when the Philistines engaged Israel in a battle. According to theologians, David fought sixty-six battles and lost none. Through the power of worship, he cast out the evil spirit that tormented King Saul. He was a king, prophet, psalmist, warrior, war general, etc. What was the secret of such great exploits? Prayer was.

Apart from being a worshipper, David also prayed in the morning, noon and night. As a result of such lifestyle of prayer, he conquered both the lion and the bear, he was able to carry food (baby goat) from the mouths of lions and they could do nothing. His secret was: “Three times a day”, no matter how tight the schedule is, I must pray. Morning, noon and evening I must go before God.” That was the secret of his exceptional life.

Beloved, prayer is the secret of great exploits. No one can do great things without great prayers. Pay the price to prevail with God at the place of prayer like David. Make prayer your daily habit and exercise; then you will experience great exploits in life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. My stones of prayer, locate the head of my Goliath, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I shall not pray amiss, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Spirit of prevailing prayer, fall upon my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Arrow of prayerlessness, go back to your sender, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Birds of darkness, assigned to eat up my prayers, be wasted, in the name of Jesus.
  3. My prayer altar shall not die, in the name of Jesus.
  4. I refuse to be discouraged in the place of prayer, in the name of Jesus.
