TOPIC: Faith For The Journey (III) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 5 January 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 6-9

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 15:21-28 (KJV)

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” – Mark 9:23

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
The just shall live by faith.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

I PRAY THAT HEAVEN SHALL GIVE YOU THE FAITH TO ACHIEVE YOUR NEXT-LEVEL DREAMS, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

In both the Old and New Testaments, God commended and rewarded faith. He still does today. Hebrews 11 catalogues Bible characters who demonstrated great faith in God and achieved supernatural feats. They are called heroes of faith. They earned an enviable status with God and man through their faith in the Sovereign Lord. Jesus rebuked those who lacked faith while He commended and greatly rewarded those who exercised faith: the leper (Matthew 8:2), the centurion (Matthew 8:10), the ruler (Matthew 9:18), the blind man (Matthew 9:28), the diseased (Matthew 14:36), the Syrophoenician woman (Matthew 15:28), the afflicted woman (Mark 5:28) etc. However, the good news is that God has made special promises to all who exercise faith, even in this present dispensation. Let us examine some of the promises and rewards that await you as you exercise faith in the All-Powerful and All-Sufficient God.

The first benefit you will gain for exercising faith in God is answer to your prayers. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus said, “Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard me. And I knew that Thou hearest me always” (John 11:41b & 42a). He had absolute faith in His Father and that earned Him answers to His prayers all the time. When you demonstrate unwavering faith in God always, you can be sure that He will answer your prayers. Matthew 21:22 affirms this: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

The second benefit you will derive for exercising faith in God this year and beyond is sonship. In John 1:12, the Bible says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” Becoming a child of God and heir to the Kingdom comes through faith. Sonship gives you access to the inheritance of the saints. It is a special status for which you should always be thankful to God.

Dearly beloved, let your faith have works, and expect handsome rewards from God for your genuine faith. You are a huge blessing to your generation through faith in Him who can do all things.
