The MESSAGE:

The heart is the core of moral, physical and spiritual life of humanity. A person’s heart can fully trust God or reject Him and be engrossed in earthly pursuit. This depends on where a person lays his treasures, either in heaven or in earth. Treasures are greatly desired virtues or valuable things that give pleasure to the heart of man. The Lord Jesus who knows very well that a person’s heart can easily be shifted towards the direction of his treasure, admonished His followers to lay their treasures in heaven where there is assurance of security, durability and sustainability. Laying treasures on earth refers to sinners rejecting the offer of salvation to the detriment of their souls; laying treasures on earth means being loose and careless about the things of God. It is when so called Christians are trifling with their salvation. It is when all efforts and time are directed to the acquisition of wealth, fame, power, worldly association, entertainment and giving worldinness ascendancy over spirituality. The danger is that, the heart will plunge fully into enjoying the pleasures of earthly treasures and be exposed to moth, rust and thieves (satan, sin and carnality); these will lead to eternal destruction.

Laying your treasures in heaven refers to surrendering your life to Jesus Christ. This is achieved through repentance from sin and faith in the Lord Jesus. Laying your treasures in heaven means serving God with your substance. It means serving God in holiness and in righteousness. This can be attained by a sound devotional life, meditation on the word of God, building effective prayer life, being filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, commitment to Christian service, fellowshipping with God’s children, willingness to do restitution, water baptism, living in complete obedience to the word of God, etc.

Advantage of laying your treasures in heaven is that the heart will be set on things above, where there will be no loss but eternal life with Jesus. May the Lord bless you as you lay your treasures in heaven.

MORNING

1. The grace to maintain my heavenly focus, fall upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. O LORD, increase my strength in running the heavenly race, in the name of Jesus.
3. Hope of heaven, fill my heart with ecstasy, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

1. O LORD, open my eyes to see heavenly vision, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anything in my life that will rob me of heaven, be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
3. O LORD my Father, help me to lay my treasures in heaven, in the name of Jesus.
4. Bondage of my father’s house, assigned to waste my life in hell fire, die, in the name of Jesus.
