MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

All mortals, men and women, have one need or the other. However, individuals seek different ways to get their needs met. Beloved, what you do with your need or challenge and who you approach for the provision of your need matters a lot.

Some people tell their fellow men and women about their need or challenge. They throw pity party and expect sympathy. Often, those who they go to only listen and give them an excuse for not being able to help. God does not come to their mind until much later. Some also, due to the weight of the seemingly insurmountable need or challenge throw themselves into worry and despair which often lead to depression. Some even commit suicide. Yet, some other people complain and blame their parents, siblings, spouses, co-workers, neighbours or even God for their plight or need. Lastly, there are many who give up or lose hope because they see their challenge as too great or impossible for anyone to meet.

Dear reader, every problem or challenge in your life is a need, and there is absolutely no need (spiritual or physical) that God cannot meet. The question is: who do you tell about your need or challenge? For many people, God does not come firstly or primarily to their minds whenever they have a need. They remember Him after they might have tried other options. This ought not to be so. Often, many believers tell their needs to their siblings and relatives, friends, spouses, rich and influential persons around them, medical experts, and so on. They do this, leaving God out of their calculation.

As a believer, God should be the first person that should come to your mind to talk to about your need. He is sovereign, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and nothing is impossible for Him to do. He is compassionate and ever-faithful. He never fails. In Matthew 6:8, the Lord Jesus gave us this assurance, “Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of.” In Matthew 6:9, He went on to tell us to pray for our needs and taught us how to do so in His model prayer. The main point to always remember here is that Jesus identified who we are to tell our needs – Our Father in heaven.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Father, I thank, You, because You are more than enough for my needs, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. O God, give me the spirit of grace and supplication, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. O God, I thank You for giving me the grace to know who to tell my needs, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. My Father, arise and bear my burden today, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. I declare that Jehovah is my Source, Provider and Sustainer, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. I appropriate the inexhaustible blessings that the Father has for His Children in the Kingdom, in the Name of Jesus.
  4. I shall not languish in want or be stranded, in the Name of Jesus.
