TOPIC: Develop Your Character (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 10 November 2022)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 19, Ezekiel 20:1-44, Hebrews 10:1-18, Psalm 122:1-9
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 39:7-20 (KJV)
7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
8 But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
13 And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
14 That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:
15 And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.
16 And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.
17 And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:
18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.
19 And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.
20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

MFM Devotional For Today 2022 MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we established the fact that it is important that you develop your character so as not to suffer the pain and fall that come from character flaw and deficit. We saw an example of this in Queen Vashti. Today, we shall further examine why it is necessary for you to develop your character.
First, character plays a central role in the selection and the success of leaders. The Bible shows that having a godly character often tops the list of criteria for selecting leaders. Jethro advised Moses, his son-in-law, to appoint leaders and delegate the less important leadership responsibilities to them. He defined the qualifications such men should have. He said, “Thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness…” (Exodus 18:21a). The focus here is on character. People who have knowledge, experience and talents as well as godly character usually turn out to be successful leaders. Similarly, when the number of disciples increased and the apostles’ workload also increased, they decided to re-strategise. Acts 6:2 says, “Brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:2-4, NKJV). Here, the first criterion was good reputation or good report. This has to do with godly character.
Also, godly character is a veritable key for the fulfilment of your destiny. The enemy gave Joseph a tough test of character in Potiphar’s house. Thank God that he passed the test. Mrs Potiphar seduced him and asked him to lie with her several times. Joseph refused and said, “How can I do such a wicked thing against God?” Then he fled from the woman. Joseph had the gift of dream and dream interpretation, yet he developed his character the godly way. His character helped his gifts to birth his miracles and the fulfilment of his dreams. This shows why you must develop your character as well.
Negative character made Judas, Achan, Ghazi and Michal to lose great divine opportunities. It also aborted the destinies of Saul and Samson. Beloved, you must pray and weed character flaws out of your life. I pray that the Lord will help you, in Jesus’ name.
