TOPIC: They Loved Not Their Lives (2) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 13 November 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 32, Ezekiel 33, Galatians 3, Galatians 4

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 16:24-27 (KJV)

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

MEMORY VERSE: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
Dead men cannot feel. Those who are dead to self have conquered numerous temptations.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
GOD WILL MAKE YOU A GENERAL IN HIS KINGDOM, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

The Christian life is a life to death – death to self. When Christ died on the cross, it wasn’t He alone who died but our self-life died with Him. Our self-life was also nailed to the cross. This was the reality that dawned on Apostle Paul when he said, “I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth on the inside of me for the life I now live I live by the faith of the Son of God who love me and gave himself for me.”

Notice, our Fire Scripture above, when our Lord Jesus told His disciples how His life would be rejected by men to fulfil God’s agenda, Peter stood to rebuke Him but Christ also reprimanded him saying, “Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.” Notice, it was Peter who spoke but our Lord Jesus addressed satan who was the enemy behind the scene that spoke through Peter. Jesus meant Peter had not died to self to take delight in fulfilling God’s intents rather than the things of men. Jesus further explained that whosoever would follow Him and be a General in God’s kingdom must first die unto self, then take up his cross and follow Him. He added that whosoever will save his life will lose it and whosoever will lose his life for His sake and the gospel will save it. Apostle Paul saw this call not to love self but to love God.

The above saying of Jesus played out in the life of Abraham. When God, after giving him Isaac in his old age, commanded him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, Abraham did not hold back the life of Isaac. Hence, he received it again. The Lord saw a true General upon whom He would build the foundation of the church to come. Friend, are you a true General of God’s Kingdom? Live maximally to the fulfilment of Revelation 12:11. Live to the fulfilment of loving not your life and living unto God. That is the last challenge that will qualify you to get enlisted in the rank of the true Generals of heaven.

PRAYER POINTS:
