Mountain Top Life MESSAGE:

The Bible is full of instances that prove that God rewards faith. In the New Testament, Jesus, on several occasions said to the people, “Thy faith hath made thee whole.” Today, we shall further examine the rewards of faith.

The Holy Spirit is another important reward of faith that accrues to a believer. In John 7:38-39, the Bible says, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” Galatians 3:14 (our Memory Verse) also affirms this point. The Holy Spirit is called the Promise of the Father. He is also the greatest gift of all. He is the believer’s Best Friend and indispensable Companion. Faith is the spiritual currency you need to receive the Holy Spirit and His baptism.

Also, when you demonstrate faith in God, you stand to gain protection against the devil’s attack and lies. Ephesians 6:16 underscores this valid point, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Similarly, 1 Thessalonians 5:8 adds, “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.” Faith in God earns you His protection, preservation and shielding. Truly, faith is rewarding!

Apostle Paul said that if all we seek in our Christian journey are limited to earthly and mundane things, we are most miserable of all men. What the distinguished apostle meant was that true believers should always be heaven-focused and have eternity in view. This world is not his home; he is only passing through it. Therefore, faith in God comes with a big gain: rewards in heaven.

That is why John 14:1-3 says, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Beloved, I enjoin you to also read Hebrews 11:13 and 16. You will learn of heroes of faith who sought and gained heaven.
