TOPIC: Conditions For Getting Prayer Answered (IX) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 16 May 2023)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezra 3, Ezra 4, Ezra 5, Luke 17, Luke 18

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Mark 10:46-52 (KJV)

46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Dearly beloved, another condition for getting prayer answered is to be specific. You must be specific with what you want God to do for you. In today’s Fire Scripture, the story of Bartimaeus the blind man who received his sight is very instructive. Mark 10:51 reads: “And Jesus answered and said unto him, what will thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.” – Bartimaeus was very specific “Lord, that I might receive my sight.” He did not beat about the bush. He told Jesus what his desire was; he wanted his sight so that he could help himself and do things for others.

Dear reader of this devotional, anyone that is blind is a liability and a burden to people around him, but Bartimaeus did not want to remain as such forever. For your prayers to be answered, you must be specific. 1 Samuel 1:11 also corroborates this point. Hannah did not pray for a long list of things she wanted. She was specific and prayed for only one thing. She was barren and the one thing she wanted was a male child. It says, “And she vowed a vow, and said, “O Lord of Hosts, if thou will indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid. and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give into thine handmaid a man child.” Hannah received answers to her prayers because she went straight to the point. Being specific in prayers is a medicine for speedy answers. Ask God what you want and do not beat about the bush.

Another specific prayer we can point to in the Bible is the prayer of Jabez. 1 Chronicles 4:10 reads, “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying…… and he made his request known and the Bible says that….” “And God granted him that which he requested.” If you want your prayers to receive answers, you must be specific.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. O God, take me to the mountain of transfiguration, in the mighty name of Jesus.
  2. Spirit of slumber assigned against my Gethsemane, die, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Powers using evil birds to attack my prayer altar, die with your evil birds, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Any disaster fashioned to destabilise me, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Environmental oppression, die and scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Let the broom of fire sweep away every disturbance in my environment, in the name of Jesus.
  4. My Father, make a way for me at the place of prayer, in the name of Jesus.
