TOPIC: Spiritual Maturity (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 2 July 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 32-35

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Philippians 3:12-16

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

MEMORY VERSE: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” – Philippians 3:10

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
Getting spiritually mature is not about counting the years you have been in Christ; rather, it is about how much of Christ is in you.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I COMMAND THOSE POWERS ASSIGNED TO AMPUTATE YOUR SPIRITUAL PROGRESS TO DIE NOW, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Spiritual maturity is a journey that proceeds from your healthy spiritual growth as a Christian. It involves an individual’s decisions and choices. There is a moment of being born again, like every child; thereafter, you learn to grow and climb the spiritual ladder. There should be a conscious effort to outgrow spiritual childishness and move on to more important things in the Spirit.

If the apostle Paul can make a holy cry that he wanted to know more of Jesus, who are you to be too comfortable and complacent with your spiritual experience? Apostle Paul gave no regard to the things of the past. Rather, he sought for higher ground in Christ (Philippians 3:13-14). Therefore, becoming spiritually mature should be a top priority for every Christian (Matthew 6:33).

As a Christian, you cannot continue to live on the milk of God’s Word. He desires that you grow into the level of taking solid spiritual food. This is the process of becoming a mature Christian. This level of growth, therefore, calls for some deeper intimacy with God, a consistent walk in the Spirit and total obedience to the will of God and His Word.

This is that level where you become dead to self and you seek nothing but Christ, always living with eternity in view. As earlier stated, without growth, death is imminent. In the same vein, where there is no spiritual maturity, mediocrity becomes the order of the day. May you not be a spiritual mediocre, in the name of Jesus.

To be spiritually mature is to grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding on the things of God. You become so intimate with God that you become His friend and He could count on you as His beloved.

God wants you to experience the spiritual regeneration that comes with spiritual maturity. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in you: to get rid of every residue of sin, the world and the flesh, thereby putting off the old man and putting on the new man which is renewed in the knowledge of Christ (Colossians 3:8-14; Ephesians 4:22-24).

Spiritual regeneration or degeneration, the choice is yours! Choose wisely and become an eagle for God.
