7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional The MESSAGE:

The fact that many people support a particular opinion does not make it right. Both Joshua and Caleb opposed the report of majority of the spies (Numbers 13:25-33). Joshua and Caleb based their report on a firm commitment to God and a full confidence in His promises to Israel. They refused to accept the overwhelming decision of God’s people, even at the risk of losing their own lives.

When you look at the lives of some people and the name they bear, you will discover that the name we bear has influence on what happens to us and the fulfilment of our destiny.

Caleb of the tribe of Judah, the son of Jephunneh was very bold and courageous. His name means “bold”. When you are bold, you have the heart of a lion and nothing will intimidate you. God wants His children to be bold and very strong in faith. The Bible says, “Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD (Deuteronomy 1:36).

Beloved, to have victorious faith is to follow God with our whole life without questioning His decision. To have victorious faith is to like what He likes, go where He goes and do what He approves. The fact that God had told the Israelites that the Promised Land was theirs made Celeb to believe and report that they could possess the land despite the fact that giants were there. In Joshua 14:10-14, Caleb testified after forty-five years that his strength was the same as that time that he went with other spies to check the land.

God is waiting for men and women of faith, people like Caleb, He can rely upon. Are you ready to be one?
