TOPIC: Pray Without Ceasing (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 21 August 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 7, Ecclesiastes 8, Revelation 19, Revelation 20.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 18:1-7 (KJV)

1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

MEMORY VERSE: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
Prayer cannot be limited to occasional practice. It is an attitude and a lifestyle that all Christians must possess and live out.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE UPON YOUR LIFE, TODAY, RECEIVE THE POWER TO PRAY AND NOT TO FAINT, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, prayed. He also taught His disciples to pray. It is not a surprise to read the continuous and consistent call to prayer from the apostles too. Men of old, fathers of faith were men of prayers too. They were addicted to a consistent and fervent prayer life. You may need to read more about these old patriarchs that lived a life of ceaseless prayers. In a word, beloved, we must pray at all times, everyday, everywhere and for everything. Ephesians 6:18 counsels us to pray all kind of prayers: “…..praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 counsels you to keep praying, not stopping. The Fire Scripture of today opens with yet a similar counsel that all men should be active in the place of prayer and not get tired. As a child of God, you can only pray to God, not to man, to angels or other spirit beings. That will amount to idolatry. This is why you should conform to divine expectations before you can be qualified to spread holy hands before God in prayer. You must have a pure heart, clean hands and pure conscience and godly character (Psalm 24:3-5). Now that you know that God wants you to come to Him stainless and blameless, taking to the example of the widow in today’s Fire Scripture, you must be ready to be consistent in the place of prayer. She persisted in her demands from the judge so she could be acquitted. She did not relent in her efforts, and remained consistent with her demand, “Avenge me of my adversaries.” If she could do this so much that the human judge had no choice but to grant her request, how much more would our heavenly Father do to us, His beloved children?

Beloved, get ready to travail in the place of prayer until something happens. Our memory verse admonishes us to present our worries, needs, fears, battles and all before God in prayer, and there shall be a supernatural response. With prayer you can ask from God, seek His face and when you knock the door of heaven, it shall be opened unto you.
