14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:
Jesus calls us in today’s Fire Scripture to shine forth as light in the world and not to be hidden or covered. Are you shining where you are as a Christian? What does it mean to shine or be a shining light? Does it mean there are lights that do not shine? All these are important questions that you should ask yourself as we go through these few verses in the next few days.
Light illuminates and brightens whenever it comes up. That was what happened when God called forth light at the beginning, “And there was light….”. Something different occurred! Darkness vanished instantly at the appearance of light. That is who you and I are in Christ! Whenever and wherever you appear, the glory of God must appear as a child of God. With this appearance, transformation comes into the place, the situation and the people around you. This is because of Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The true light that comes from God cannot be covered, neither can it he hidden. Jesus is the Light of the world! It is in and through Him that we can rightly discover our identity as light. If not for Him, through the work of redemption, salvation and sanctification, we would remain in bondage and darkness. But as joint heirs with Christ, you can beam that light and lives will be touched and souls of men drawn to Him in surrender. How? It happens when they see the attributes and character of Jesus in you. They will desire to know your God and surrender their Iives to Jesus. This happens as a matter of your intimate relationship with Jesus, and others (Christians and unbelievers) on daily basis. Jesus must be seen and known through you, as lives are magnetized by yours in admiration of the grace and power of God upon your life.

Therefore. shining involves making positive impact on people’s lives, influencing them for Christ. It also includes that you radiate beyond your immediate environment. You become a transformer of lives with your appearance and manifestation. All these will begin to happen because of the One in you- Jesus Christ. May you shine as light in this world of sin and iniquity, in the name of Jesus.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Light of God, shine in my Iife, in the name of Jesus.
- Because I am born of God through Christ, I shine bright wherever I go, in the name of Jesus.
- As the Lord lives, no power shall be able to stop my shining in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- I am a child of the Kingdom of God; I beam forth the light of God, in the name of Jesus.
- Dark powers assigned to cover my light, scatter and die, in the name of Jesus.
- Unbelievers shall see the light of God in me and shall surrender their lives to Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
- O God arise, let the killers of good things in my life die now, in the name of Jesus
