TOPIC: Believe Not Every Spirit (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 24 August 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 13, Ecclesiastes 14, Matthew 3, Matthew 4.

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 John 4:1-6 (KJV)

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

There are spirits and there are spirits, but the Spirit of God is one, the Holy Spirit. He is the Comforter. Jesus, before His death and ascension, promised not to leave us comfortless. He promised to send the Comforter who will bear witness of God the Father, as well as Himself. This will be a proof that the Godhead is Three Persons yet One, the Trinity. That is, God the Father, God the Son and God, the Holy Spirit. Consequently, any teaching or belief that doesn’t conform with the unity of the Trinity, the Sonship of Jesus Christ and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, is certainly not of God, neither is it from Him.

Jesus forewarned in the gospels that there would come a time when there would be false prophets and teachings, even the spirit of the Antichrist. The time is here and we can see the manifestations all around the world: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:15). Also, Matthew 24 said so much about the end of times and the manifestations of the Antichrist: “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many………. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-6,11). The same message is echoed by the apostles and today we can confidently say that these activities are all over our societies. (Take time to read through 2 Peter 2:1-22; Acts 20:29-30; 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, etc.).

Unfortunately, many people, even supposed Christians, are developing “itching ears” as written in the scriptures; they are no longer interested in sound doctrines and deep Biblical teachings. Instead of heeding the word of God, Christians have become so weak at the place of prayer and Bible study. Hence, they seek prayer contractors and manipulators who promise to seek God’s face on their behalf, praying and fasting, including different “ungodly rituals and unbiblical practices” which are nothing but satanic inventions to override godliness. This is a tragedy! This is not the Spirit of Truth! This is the Antichrist. As a child of God, you must discern between the false and the truth and hold tenaciously to the truth.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Every seductive agenda of satan and his cohorts to default me, fail woefully, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Satanic manipulation and false prophets, be exposed and disgraced, in the name of Jesus.
  3. I receive the power of God to discern between the Spirit of God and false spirits, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Holy Ghost fire, burn down every particle of satanic lies in my mind, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Every false spirit masquerading as the angel of Light, be exposed and disgraced, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Holy Spirit, strengthen my inner man to withstand and resist every false spirit, in the name of Jesus.
  4. O Lord, increase Your fire in my life and turn me to fire, in the name of Jesus.
