TOPIC: New Birth, New Life (2) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 25 February 2025)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 16:29-18:30, Psalm 41:1-13, Mark 7:24-8:10, Proverbs 10:15-16

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 3:1-12 (KJV)

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

MEMORY VERSE: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:2 (KJV)

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Still on the issue of the new birth and the new life. Beloved, you cannot live a new life if you don’t experience a new birth. However, to live a new life does not just happen. It comes with the work of the Holy Spirit in you, which you must willingly yield yourself to. It also calls for your own personal efforts enabled by the Holy Spirit to see that you conform to this new life and its demands. At the end, you are divinely transformed into a new man, a new woman, manifesting the character of God as it is in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

This transformation calls for commitment, dedication and discipline. It doesn’t just happen. It is a lifelong process! It is a divine development of your spiritual and physical personality that makes you a true resemblance of Christ and a worthy ambassador of God’s Kingdom. You are renewed through your mind ina way that reflects in all other areas of your life, including your character, behaviour, attitudes and relationships. You begin to live your life in a way different from how you were before the new birth. Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:17-20, “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ.” Note the last statement.

He went on to tell us how to live this new life in verses 21-24; “If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Above is the template for the new life, a renewed mind, and putting on the “new man”, whose hallmark is righteousness and true holiness in Christ Jesus.
