TOPIC: The Power Of Angelic Intervention (3) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 27 May 2024)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Acts 12:1-11 (KJV)

1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Angels of God excel in strength and they hearken unto the voice of His word (Psalm 103:20). The major role of angels is to bring the commandments or will of God to manifestation on earth. Another important blessing that angelic intervention brings is that it overrules, cancels or removes death sentence passed against a believer.

In Acts 12, in the heat of the persecution of the early church, Herod had arrested and killed Apostle James. He soon arrested and imprisoned Peter with the intention to kill him after some days. The early church was concerned and they went into prayers and intercession unto God for Peter without ceasing. The night that Herod would have brought Peter to the people for judgement and execution, the angel of God went to the prison, woke Peter up where he was sleeping between two soldiers, smote him on the side and told him to gird himself, bind his sandals and follow him. Immediately, Peter’s chain fell off and he followed the angel out of the prison, passing through the first and second wards and the prison’s iron gate. All these opened for them of their own accord. The Bible records that when Peter, who had thought he was in a dream, came to himself, he said, “Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from the expectations of the people of the Jews” (Acts 12:11). That was how the death sentence hanging on Peter’s head was removed miraculously through timely angelic intervention.

Peter’s angelic deliverance contains some important lessons for us (believers). First, it shows that there is nothing God cannot do when something is placed in His hands (2 Chronicles 20:15). Second, when God wants to do something, nothing can stop Him (Matthew 27:62-66; 28:2-4). Third, God laughs at unbelievers and their evil plans and finally destroys them (Psalm 2:4). Fourth, there is nothing impossible for God (Luke 1:37).

Beloved, angels play significant roles in the ministry of deliverance. The Bible affirms this in Psalm 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” In Exodus 23:20-23, the Bible reveals how God used His angels to effect the miraculous deliverance of His children from430 years of bondage in Egypt, “Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

Beloved, God sent His angel to deliver Peter from Herod’s incarceration and untimely death, He will send His angel to you today and you will have a great testimony, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINTS

MORNING

  1. Father, let my prayers to You provoke angelic intervention in my favour, in the name of Jesus.
  2. O God, let prayers being made for me by others orchastrate angelic intervention in my life, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Father, frustrate the evil machination of the spirit of Herod in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Agents of untimely death, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Any power pursuing me in order to kill me, die in my place now, in the name of Jesus
  3. My ministry will not end abruptly, in the name of Jesus.
  4. ⁠Blood of Jesus, wipe off and remove any death sentence hanging on my head and my bloodline, in the name of Jesus.
