I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.

29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

30 And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

A toxic relationship is one that makes you feel unsupported, misunderstood, demeaned or attacked. A relationship is toxic when it constantly makes you to feel less of yourself, thereby reducing your self-esteem.

You need wisdom when you relate with neighbours, colleagues and friends. The law of sowing and reaping is powerful. There are times to pay people back in their own coins. If somebody is not ready to accord you recognition, you are free to move to where your value will be appreciated. You do not owe anyone recognition who is not ready to recognise you. You can step aside and move away from where you are tolerated to where you are celebrated.

In today’s fire scripture, Eliab wanted to demean David, but David was too wise to swallow his demeaning words.”…….. And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause? And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.” David turned from his toxic brother to someone who was ready to boost his morale. Do not give your best to anyone who is not ready to offer you his or her best.

It is often wise to treat people the way they have decided to treat you. Do not impose yourself on those who are fed up with you. You can refuse to be disrespected. No one on earth has the capability to disgrace you without your permission. What you tolerate is what people will give you. If you choose to make your life a trash bin, people will drop their refuse and treat you like rags.

When you rise up and bluntly say no, those who want to rubbish you will stay clear. You are the only one who can allow or disallow insults and reproaches. When you keep your dignity, people will be left with no option than to respect you. Get rid of all toxic and demeaning relationships today.
