TOPIC: The Mystery Of Divine Prescriptions (3) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 3 March 2025)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 5:1-14 (KJV)

1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

7 And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Yesterday, we learnt that divine prescriptions have the power to solve or end an age-long problem, captivity, etc. We also saw a good example in the dramatic release of the Israelites in Egypt when they religiously carried out the prescription given to them by Jehovah.

Today, we shall look at another feature of divine prescriptions. Divine prescriptions have the power to produce healing and deliverance where no man, physician or spiritualist has been able to help. Naaman had name, enviable status, career success local and international connections, renown and wealth, yet none of this could solve the problem of leprosy ravaging his life. It was the blemish the enemy tried to use to dent his glorious career and great reputation. I can imagine the efforts General Naaman would have made. He would have consulted the gods in Syria to no avail. He would have gone to see the best dermatologists and spent huge amount of money without being cleansed. He must have given up at a point and thought he would live with the shameful condition till he died. However, the mercy of God located Naaman. Perhaps, he and his wife were nice to their servants and domestic staff. This might have made the Israelite maid in his house to pity him. She told Mrs Naaman that there was a Prophet in Israel who would remove the shameful leprosy her boss was carrying about. The Israelite maid must have spoken with confidence about Jehovah and His prophet, Elisha. Mrs Naaman believed her and passed the message to her husband who also acted on it. That was the beginning of Naaman’s healing and turnaround. He did not discountenance the advice of the little maid. Beloved, you do not know who God will use for you. Don’t ever look down on anyone.

When Naaman got to Prophet Elisha, he delivered God’s prescription to Naaman: “Go to River Jordan, deep and wash yourself in it seven times and you will be cleansed of your leprosy.” Seven times in Jordan was the divine prescription. It looked so simple and different from what Naaman expected. God’s way is not our way.

Naaman initially put up some resistance, but he had good people around him who loved him and persuaded him to do what Prophet Elisha had said. Behold, the divine prescription worked perfectly. By the time Naaman dipped himself inside Jordan the seventh time, his skin was miraculously cleansed and restored. The Bible says it was like the skin of a baby.

Beloved, one divine prescription is what that challenge in your life is waiting for.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

⁠Mercy of God qualify me for divine intervention and prescription today, in the name of Jesus.
⁠O God open my eyes to see and my ears to hear Your divine prescription, in the name of Jesus.
O God, give me the grace and humility to believe, accept and utilise Your prescription, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

⁠Spirit of unbelief, you will not deprive me of my divine prescription, in the name of Jesus.
⁠Spirit of pride, you will not deprive me of my divine prescription, in the name of Jesus.
⁠O God, use Your prescription to open door of supernatural transformation for me, in the name of Jesus.
O God, use Your life-changing prescription to turn shame to glory permanently in my life, as You did for Naaman, in the name of Jesus.
