The MESSAGE:

An altar is a place of worship. God’s children always build altars for the Lord to worship Him from time to time. The altar is where God dwells. He dwells in us as believers through the Holy Spirit. Our bodies have become the altar of the Lord. There is also the family altar, a place where a family worships God.

The greatest need for any family is to build an altar unto God. When you build an altar unto God, He will bless you as He blessed father Abraham. Today, some Christian families display their spirituality in the church alone. They pray, teach, praise and worship God only in the church. This has denied many of them the experience of divine blessings that come from the family altar.

There are blessings attached to families through the family altar. In other words, the family altar is church in the home. Families that do not have an altar will suffer for it. There are cases of incest, rape, killings and so on because many lack the protection that comes from family altar.

A family altar in the home is an indication of God’s presence. When God is in your home, He will surely keep, bless and provide for your home (2 Samuel 6:12). Timothy’s grandmother brought him to the family altar and Timothy became a Bishop.

There are many benefits that are attached to having a family altar. Fellowship makes the family come together to pray. It makes the family to study the word and worship together. It also helps to bring the children up in the fear of the Lord. Such children develop godly virtues and values to live a stable, peaceful and victorious life (Proverbs 22:6). They also learn how to communicate with God at the family altar (Matthew 19:14). The battles of life are fought and won at the family altar. It is a place to spend good time together with God. It is a place for repentance, forgiveness and healing (1 Peter 3:7).

It is your responsibility to make your family altar effective. You can achieve that by having a regular time for it every day, probably very early in the morning. You should praise and worship and allow the children to do that one after the other. You should also have a well-planned Bible reading and discussion and let every family member participate in the activities.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. I curse every spirit enforcing evil altars in my life and I command them to release me, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Let every satanic altar that has been introduced into my family receive the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Let every evil hidden covenant break, in the mighty name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Every tree that the Father did not plant in my life, be uprooted, in the name of Jesus.
  2. O Lord, energise my family altar, in the name of Jesus.
  3. My family altar, receive fire now, in the name of Jesus.
  4. I command any demon attached to my family altar to die, in the name of Jesus.
