3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:

4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

We all pray to live long and die at a good old age. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen to all men. Some died young but left a lasting legacy for their children and children’s children. They fulfilled purpose in God through Christ Jesus. Some lived to old age but just like Methuselah, there was really nothing to show for it. They came, lived and died leaving behind no spectacular footprints on the sands of time. Nobody gained anything from their existence, no positive influence on anyone. Not even their immediate family members have any of their contributions to point to, not to talk of the church or their work place.

Beloved, it doesn’t matter what age you are presently. If you are young, begin to lay a godly foundation for your old age. Even the  Bible counsels that you seek the Lord your God in the days of your youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1). This is to help you prepare to live your future years in the Lord, and to live it well. The book of Proverbs has some of its verses talking about the old age and accompanied benefits when it is lived gracefully, otherwise it tends to folly and penury. Job 12:12 says, “With the ancient is wisdom; And in length of days understanding”, but it is for those who are living according to godly principles.

This makes it clear that as a child of God advances in age, he or she should increase in wisdom. We could see this in the case of Abraham, the friend of God, Moses, the meekest man on earth, Simeon, the man who waited until the manifestation of the Son of God, Jesus, before departing in peace (Luke 2:25-38), Anna, that widow, who also waited to see this glorious manifestation, dwelling in God’s presence and beholding His glory all through her years. She lived a devoted life to God and service in God’s temple and presence all through her eighty four years on earth.

Beloved, you can age gracefully by doing the following: (1) Be a friend of God like Abraham and Moses (2) Live a Spirit-filled life. (3) Have an assurance of salvation and pray without ceasing (4) Keep the fire on your altar to God burning till the end.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. I receive the grace and power to age gracefully, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. I reject every disease and sickness that makes old age a snare, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. I receive uncommon grace to age gracefully while serving the Lord, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. As you uphold the faithful of old, O Lord, make me strong and keep me standing in You till the end, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. Powers that want to cut my life short, you are liars, die, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. By the enabling power of God, I shall fulfil my days and shall be a blessing to generations, in the Name of Jesus.
  4. Father Lord, let Your promise in Psalm 91 verse 16 be fulfilled in my life, in the Name of Jesus.
