1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Beloved, it is time you repositioned your mind if it is not where it should be. Perhaps that explains why you are behaving the way you do. You can’t be a citizen of the heavenly kingdom but relegated to earthly affairs. Do everything possible by crying to God to purge every filthiness in your mind that is making you to be a double-minded Christian. James said such persons are double-minded, doubters, victims of unbelief. They are like leaves on water, easily swayed away; they shall not receive any good thing from the Lord (James 1:6-8).

Rather, as a Christian, your life is hidden in God through Christ Jesus. You died to your sins in Christ, and came alive with Him in resurrection. Every true believer in Christ shall reign with Him in glory, when He shall appear again as written severally in scriptures, because He is our life. His life lighted life into us and we are no longer living like the people of this world, but in Christ. Paul confessed in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

You and I have been raised with Christ to a new life, having been dead to this world. Our mindset, thoughts, behaviours, attitudes and values should be that of a heavenly-minded Christian. While you are on this planet earth, think and do things differently that would make people see and know that you are just here, passing through; your home and mine is heaven. We are citizens of the commonwealth of heaven, where Christ is the King. Any attempt to fall below this divine rating implies that at the second coming of Jesus, you may not be qualified to go with Him. I pray that won’t be your portion, in Jesus’ name. Take your time to pray for divine reset of your mind. Consciously and prayerfully ensure that you evacuate and put to death all earthly affections that could take your mind away from devotion to God through Christ. Keep praying and asking for grace to remain steadfast till the end, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. ⁠Father, give me the grace to walk in the newness of life, in the name of Jesus.
  2. ⁠O God give me the grace to crucify the flesh and all its affections, in the name of Jesus.
  3. O God, help me to be transformed by the renewing of my mind with Your word, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. ⁠I shall not obey the voice of sin and sin will not have dominion over me, in the name of Jesus.
  2. ⁠I overcome all worldly distractions, in the name of Jesus.
  3. ⁠I overcome the snares of the enemy, in the name of Jesus.
  4. ⁠O Lord, uphold me and take me home to reign with You, in the name of Jesus.
